The exhibition, "Zeitreise Defereggen" in St. Jakob i. D. is split over two rooms. Interactively, in the first room visitors are taken in a time lapse from the Ice Age through the millennia.

The almost 1000 year old dugout canoe, preserved in a glass cabinet, which hangs from the ceiling, is the focal point of the exhibition in room two, where finds from the hunting station on the Hirschbichl through to the heyday of mining and travel trades recount Defreggen’s history.
