Our farm, known by the local name "Oberforcher," is located at 1,100m directly on the Pustertaler Höhenstraße, above the Lienzer Klause, and just about a 10-minute drive from the sunny town of Lienz.

Nestled in the impressive mountain landscape of East Tyrol, Oberforcherhof offers the perfect break from everyday life.

We rent three lovingly renovated holiday apartments that can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and up to two children (with a pull-out couch). The alpine charm of our accommodations, combined with modern comfort, creates a cozy atmosphere in which you'll feel at home from the very first moment. Families, nature lovers, and those seeking tranquility particularly appreciate the relaxed environment and proximity to nature.

Brief history of our farm

According to genealogical research, Oberforcherhof first appears around 1380 in a Görz muster list (directory of military conscripts). Over the centuries, the farm has been self-sufficient. Located on a sunlit slope with light soils, all types of grain and even some fruit thrived here.

The former forest ownership supposedly consisted mainly of pines (called Forche in the local dialect). This likely also gives rise to the house name "Forcher." It is also found in our family name Oberforcher and in our family crest, which features a squirrel sitting on a pine.
