Rugged beauty blended with wild romance - on this guided snowshoe hike with our rangers around the Matreier Tauernhaus, you will discover many traces and secrets of the unique nature.

At the entrance to the National Park, fascinating insights into the protected area of the largest national park in the Eastern Alps open up.

This area in Eastern Tyrol is one of the preferred abodes of the kings of the air, the golden eagles and bearded vultures.

If conditions permit, our rangers will take you to observe the largest living bird of prey, the bearded vulture in the wild, or one of the roaming eagles.

You can admire them in their habitat through a spotting scope.

From Carinthia and Italy via Lienz – Matrei – towards Felbertauern, just before the ascent to the tunnel turn left to the Matreier Tauernhaus.

From Germany via Salzburg – Felbertauerntunnel, after the Felbertauerntunnel about 2 km turn right to the Matreier Tauernhaus.

In winter there is no public transport.
